What is FLL?

What is
FIRST LEGO League?

Big ideas. Small robots. Amazing teamwork.

FIRST LEGO League (FLL) is a global, hands-on STEM program where kids explore science, technology, engineering, and mathematics using LEGO technology. Teams ask questions, try ideas, and learn to solve problems together.

What do FLL teams do?

In FIRST LEGO League Challenge, teams bring these three things together.

Build & Code

Design, build, and program a LEGO robot to complete missions on a playing field. Test an idea, learn what happens, and try again.

Innovate

Explore a real-world problem through an Innovation Project. Ask questions, imagine a solution, and share your ideas and what you learn.

Work Together

Listen, share the work, and make room for every idea. Practice creativity, communication, and kindness—even during competition.

More than just robots
